Cooler Not for a 6 Pack

I will soon need a laptop cooler. Any suggestions? The new machine has an 18.4" screen and uber components. Several people online have recommended coolers. I much prefer one that has the power supply that plugs into the wall instead of a USB driven device. Seems logical that driving a cooling unit through the USB port will create inherent heat. Opinions? Any advice? Are there any that should be avoided? For instance, I certainly don't want anything noisy, but would trade some of that off for excellent cooling. After online shopping it looks like I may have to settle for a powered USB hub and plug the cooler into it. Comments are welcome!

I think USB power is what you will find now. Everything seemed to have ventured that way.

We have an Antec one - http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Notebook-Cooler-USB-Powered/dp/B0000BVYTV/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1268073304&sr=8-1

Got it for C's 15, but I find myself using it more often and balancing my 17 on it.

Just got Jay a Swiss Gear one for his birthday. Check with him on the "real" performance of that one, they got good reviews online.

To add to Beagle's comment, we have had the Antec one for about two years now. It has run great. And to add to the Swiss Gear one, when he plugged his up you could barely hear it running. It had pull out wings on each side just in case you had a bigger laptop.

here's the addy to the one we got for our 17" notebook. It gives you a slight angle and the warm air escapes through the sides.

I have a Swiss USB cooler with wings for my UBER Dell Studio 17. Love it.
I am with EM, that is the way things are going as far as products being powered via USB ports.

There are few things that you can never have enough of, even fewer that you can never have rtoo much of. One member of that very short list is cpu or general computer cooling.

Returned the Targus cooler and opted for the Swiss thangy, BTW it works perfectly and fits just fine. Thanks all for the input!
