Yes, it's a pipedream, but my laptop is six years old and small problems are beginning to show up. Work is impossible without one. Later, I'd raise the memory to 8gigs. If I find $1200.00 thrown out in my front yard I'll order it now!!!! That's about the only way a starving beach house tech could upgrade. Remember, I have lost 40lbs!!

throw another hard drive in your machine and install linux on it and see how fast your old laptop can be.
You can even run windows apps when needed.

That's so true, but it won't make my 128meg graphics card any larger - it's actually a 64 sharing 64. You are so right about running windows apps inside Linux. WINE and several other emulation programs have come a very long way. Glad you have such an interest. Specific reasons I desire this particular machine, but it's a pipedream anyway. I have seen adn used one with 4 gigs RAM (204) and it's a complete slam dunk. Beyond any doubt best screen I've ever seen on laptop. Hey, it's a Toshiba, it feels good to the touch and keeps working! In the meantime, mind sharing your version of linux Kubuntu (Ubuntu with KDE is my fave). Check PC-BSD too. Awesome! GUI install!!!

BTW red rockers is truly awesome. Great piece of work. You should publish it as a wallpaper freeware but take donation. Beautiful art.

Doc,

As of yet I have not taken the plunge. I researched several flavors almost all of my software is open source. I love the idea! It's really hard to believe I run windows(Vista - no problems either).

I will eventually switch! Maybe this year. Never have enough time!!!!

Thanks for the thumbs up on
