Some Spyware Makes Snidley Whiplash Look Like a Saint

Even though stopbadware.org has given Cyberdefender (aka CyberDefender, Cyber-Defender) a new clean bill of health, there are 968,000 pages on Google about removing it. There are also 104,000 pages if you look up cyberdefender scam. Or you can look up 223,000 pages on uninstalling cyberdefender. Sorry, I wouldn't use this software on North Korea's missile program. Despite the good grade given by the stopbadware.org blog it's still one of the badguys. And the stopbadware.org blog has been disqualified since it is proving to be a non-reliable source.

The problems are still there. Trying to remove this software is about as hard as getting what-his-name 'Imadinnerjacket' to step down as president of Iran. This software just won't go away. There are also some other problems left on this computer, but it is now running regular anti-virus scans and several anti-spyware programs are active. This was a phone conversation only job and I haven't actually touched the computer. The user was knowledgeable and worked with me. I'd still like to put it on my bench and check it out. Ahhhh, time. Where does it go?

Note to Lynette: I reviewed the archived articles about protection software and found they are out of date. Instead of emailing you those pages there will be another post in the next few days about what the beach house considers the best way to defend a computer. Links and explanations about installing and initial setup will be made available. Please bear with me. Research is involved and it may be a few days. Hope this info will be of some use to everyone.
