Weather, Linux and Music

It is just about time to cancel all cable TV. Will keep the internet because they haven't discovered a way to interrupt with weather bulletins, yet. It's rare that I sit down and purposely watch the tube, but Saturday night there are BritComs on Socialist TV (PBS) that are enjoyed at the beach house. Just turned off the idiot box and decided to check the action doppler radar gadget on my iGoogle homepage. Yes, it is raining outside. No, it's not the latter day incarnation of Noah's flood. The irritation and aggravation of trying to watch a few minutes of private hilarity is not worth the money.

Oh well, at least the Linux installation went smoothly. It is so simple to install. Right now I have a test MP3 mix playing in Amarok (Linux Media Player). It blows Windows Media Players away. There's just more information. Just heard Atlanta Rhythm Section, Norah Jones, Jane Monheit, No Doubt, Michael McDonald and am presently listening to Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London. Hah! Draw Blood!, LOL. Neat thing is that this is a dual install with the original XP still in place and Amarok is grabbing these files out of a Windows folder. Gotta go import more music to the Linux machine. Yes, I am having fun for a few minutes.

While you're getting ready for church in the morning I'll be 50 miles away working on a major network problem. Working Sunday...pray for me.
