The Force is With Us, One Way or Another

It's nice to see software giant Microsoft cooperating in a positive manner to align with some of the opensource folks, you know those Linux, FreeBSD Jedi Knight types. You can read about it over at MercuryNews.com. Matthew Newman explains how Windows gurus are working with others to aid opensource software in linking to Windows. Nicely written, it's brief and to the point. Of course Steve Ballmer probably tried to throw a monkey wrench in the works. That is just a guess though. Bozo Ballmer is a monkey wrench, well a monkey anyway (please forgive me Simians of the world).

Then there's the dark side of the force at work. Yes Darth Jobs and his Apple stormtroopers have been busy suing a website that posts rumors about Apple projects. Will these Nazis ever get a life? Steve Jobs, yeh, you dumbass, this was FREE publicity!!! You can read about it at ajc.com. This is almost goofy as those stupid outright lies they call advertising presently playing on TV that lead folks to believe you should buy an Apple instead of a PC. Can we say ABSURD? Apple is a very small player in a very large pond.

Microsoft software powers 95% of the world's computers; see the article linked in the first paragraph. Also, did you know that the most popular piece of software sold to Apple users is Microsoft Office?!?!?!? So don't be misled by idiotic, negative advertising. This past summer I was subcontracted to install computers and wireless technology in many local libraries. The Gates Foundation (as in Bill and Melinda Gates of Microsoft fame) paid for this project. When was the last time you heard of Steve Jobs doing ANYTHING nice?

K, the soap box is put away and now work must be done. If you see that fellow in the red suit with the white beard tell him I am still looking for him! Later.

"A sensible man will remember that the eyes may be confused in two ways - by a change from light to darkness or from darkness to light; and he will recognize that the same thing happens to the soul."
