Ramblings, opinions, and general meanderings from the Deep South

Memphis Monk sent me an astronomy site, Celestia. It is simple to use and the site is just about as good as it gets. It's easy to navigate and has a documentation section where you can download the full user's guide. Chris Laurel put this site together and has deep credentials. He worked for Microsoft as a software design engineer. His most notable works are Chrome and DirectX 8. Only one small criticism; the background is black and sometimes the text is hard to read. Perhaps the color scheme is appropriate for an astronomical page though. There are addins and scripts. You can even build your own planetary system. Think I'll call mine the Catfish system. Or perhaps Frogstar...

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001), "Last Chance to See"
