Weather n Hard Drives

Break out the Bermuda shorts and short sleeves tomorrow. The day after you will have need of a jacket. Saltillo, MS. forecast; tomorrow's high is 73F n Friday is 39F. Bet there will be need of an umbrella somewhere in the mix. The 10 day forecast is at Weather.com. Wanna bet it changes before morning?

Thinking about buying a new hard drive? You might want to read this article at ArsTechnica. Some folks may not be aware that Seagate purchased Maxtor last December. Seagate drives have a 5 year warranty. They increased the Maxtor warranty from 1 year to 3 years. Since IBM withdrew from the arena, Seagate has been my prime choice.

Hitachi bought the IBM hard drive division years ago with IBM retaining part of the R&D department. Anyone used any Hitachi drives? Haven't seen them available in the local market. Just wonder if they continued IBM's tradition of trying to build a bulletproof hard drive. Hope so.

It's been a long day. Hope tomorrow is as industrious in spite of the weird weather. Nighters all.
