Protection V

PSGuard Removal Tip: The Ewido Security Suite link in yesterday's tip will permit you 14 days of free usage unlike XoftSpy, which will only scan without repairing if not purchased.

A software defense barrier explanation was initiated this past Thursday. The protection programs mentioned in the last four posts should be installed. CCleaner is a maintenance tool that will help your PC perform and eliminate some problems before they happen. This is a powerful program so be careful. Let it go its own way and click through the setup; no need to change anything. After it is opened, go into Options, Cookies, and save the cookies of known sites that you visit. Go through the complete list in the box on the left and move your desired keepers to the box on the right. Seeing some cookies that are unfamiliar? Quit worrying. Let it delete anything that is not identified. Okay, time to run a scan.

Click on the brush with the word Cleaner under it (top left) and then click Analyze. This may take a while the first time. Be patient, let it finish. Get a coffee or refreshing beverage. Click Run Cleaner. Click it again. Now go to your left under Cleaner Settings and click Applications. Use Analyze and Run Cleaner, just like before. Now click Issues over to the left. It has a blue Rubiks Cube type icon. Then do a Scan for Issues. Then Fix Selected Issues and yes, you do want to save a backup of changes to the registry. Go ahead and finish this step of the program. Go to the Top of the page and click exit. You're through.

Use all tools mentioned since last Thursday at your own risk. Don't change any settings until you are well versed in usage and DON'T download any other programs at random (PSGuard comes to mind) that promise great and wonderful results. The mentioned applications are freeware and all have very positive reviews on any download site I've visited. Hey, you can send donations. If you use something you like send them some monetary encouragement to stay around and keep helping us. PayPal is easy. Comments and email are welcome. Hope this helps.

"This is a great country, and it wasn't made so by angry people. We have a sacred duty to bequeath it to our grandchildren in better shape than however we found it. We have a long way to go and we're not getting any younger. Dante said that the hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who in time of crisis remain neutral, so I have spoken my piece, and thank you, dear reader. It's a beautiful world, rain or shine, and there is more to life than winning."
