Gameplay

Why do I play the online game GuildWars? Gosh darn it, it's a lot of fun! Many local people participate and there are over 4 million world wide that play. Here's a pix of my family playing this kewl multiplayer round of mega battles and challenges:

These are real family members that regularly participate in the game. The one in green is a mesmer character who is my youngest daughter aka Beagle. The big fellow in blue is a warrior character that is my son-in-law aka Mudslingr (married to my youngest daughter). The female in the back dressed in white ranger gear is my oldest daughter aka Verdana. The gray haired fellow in the rear is an elementalist played by me aka old lardass. None of these names are the true names of the characters seen in the pictures, but our common net names used when referring to each other online. Actually old lardass is not my netnick. It's dockvudu. I hope. All of us play several different characters in the game, but this group is a family gathering of formidable forces. This weekend we came to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and were all out of gum!

A family of nerds and geek types no doubt! We use an online service called Teamspeak which is like all of us being in a conference phone call. This service is provided for several local guilds and maintained at the beach house. Many techs from this area play and we are forever swapping secrets, stories and strategies about our line of work. This is more or less a verbal forum, at times, where we work together to resolve problems in the work place, which is fun. Other times we sit and visit for a while staying in outposts and towns laughing at various character names people use in the game. It's all very casual. People leave and return, no one gets upset and there's a lot of laughter. Great way to spend time with family and friends, especially if you live far away or are busy all day.

As my buddy EdC says' "Have a better than expected day!"

"You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them."
