Did They Take a Bottle of Scotch to Test It?
There's water on Mars (left click on the picture to enlarge). After careful study and testing the Phoenix probe results have arrived. Read about it at Computerworld. What great news! This cost the American citizens $1.09 a week to fund. People, that's a heckuva' return for the investment. Yessirree, bobtail! Big, big bang for the buck! You can read about NASA budgets at Wikipedia. Be sure and scroll down past the chart to read the text. Hats off to the real rocket scientists for a job well done. Marvelous, simply marvelous.
"There is no way back into the past; the choice, as Wells once said, is the universe--or nothing. Though men and civilizations may yearn for rest, for the dream of the lotus-eaters, that is a desire that merges imperceptibly into death. The challenge of the great spaces between the worlds is a stupendous one; but if we fail to meet it, the story of our race will be drawing to its close."
Arthur C. Clarke, Interplanetary Flight, 1950
