There will be eleven new patches this coming Tuesday. Microsoft has "fixes" for all operating systems for Windows 2000 and all OS's that came about later as well as some Office products. If you have Windows Updates set on automatic the patches should be downloaded without extra attention. Eight of the patches will require you to restart your machine. Folks, please don't ignore these important updates. You could be putting all of us at risk. Go ahead and whine if you want, but handle it and then forget about it. It's not that big a deal unless you do not comply. Then you are on your own. Read a very good article about these updates at ArsTechnica.
