Monitor Blues is over and new IM

Need a new monitor? OfficeMax offers a StarLogic 19" Flat Screen CRT for $139.95. They have a few left and will be on sale until Saturday. Dot pitch is .25 and maximum resolution 1600x1200. Great clarity and even though it's a CRT the depth and weight are minimal.

Heard about Google Talk? It is a new free instant messaging service that has no ads! They use your Gmail account name. Don't have Gmail? Puh-leeze crawl out of that cave! Email me for an invitation! Finally, a way to escape spyware carrier Yahoo (every time you use Yahoo you are supporting one of the largest spyware thugs -> Claria) and the most annoying MSN Messenger. BTW, you can turn off MSN Messenger permanently in Outlook Express.

Google Talk is compatible with GAIM, a great opensource IM that covers many formats of instant messenger services. It will run in Windows, most flavors of Linux and can be tweaked to run on those Apple thangys. GAIM is in use at the beach house and it rocks!

Have a cool and casual day unless you are in the spyware business.
