AVG 8.0 Free Edition has been removed from this machine. It has been re-installed 3 times and still misses updates. It takes 3 to 4 hours for a scan to complete. After telling it to turn off and not scan it decided it would scan anyway using over a 100 megs of memory. Hey, you don't take control of my machine unless you have permission. This is a Windows 2000 machine and that may make a difference. I am sure AVG will be installed again as soon as the bugs are gone.Using PCTools Free Edition and it does a nice job without grabbing resources. Will report on it after a few days. Very easy install and you can schedule scans and updates. The full scan takes less than an hour.
