This blows me away! The concept of plasma arc speakers is akin to magic. Yet here is proof that they do exist. Paralyzes a few brain cells trying to wrap my mind around music coming a beam of light...or in this case plasma. Nowadays, you can watch the video on a plasma TV and listen on plasma speakers. The song is too long, but is an excellent pop music demonstration of the dynamic range involved.
What's next? A real light saber?

Back at State, Those that know me will know how long ago that was One of the oyher guys that worked at Southern Hi-Fi was a Hard-Core Audiophile. And even back then he was droolin over plasma tweeters but weirdest full range back then were either electrostatic panels or Ohm F's
Light saber would rule! But the dude on "Sci Fi Science" pretty much proved a self contained small handled device like that would NOT be feasible...with today's technology at least...lol
Ya ever seen what happens with a Sure-Fire Light with it's Xenon bulb and a pait of DL123a batterys? In fact they make one that holds 2 6 battery magazines (DL123s is lil buggers) it can force a subject with closed eyes, at full up noon to avert their face.
Light Sabers aren't THAT far off.
Well, put my name on the list. Wow, light saber in one hand and throw in a ray gun that shoots plasma projectiles - baddd to da bone! I did read that article Hoppa'. I also DOM'T think something that small can wield such awesome power. But the Kaiburr crystals (found on planets Dantooine and Ilum [plz remember these places and things are fictional, lol]) that drive light sabers haven't been discovered plus the Synth Crystals haven't been created, so who knows what the future might bring?
:-( Just read on the SureFire site that the Dominator is no longer made!
Now the most lumens they will put in your hand are 500 big drop from 1200.
DOM'T=DON'T, my bad, rented fingers trying to type
That's why I included "with today's technology"...but I think I discovered a dilithium crystal mine in my backyard, if someone wants to help me build a warp-drive engine. ROFL!
Count me in Cap'n Hoppa. You may not have a Spock but a poor excuse named dock!
If we're harvesting dilithium crystals, I think neither of us are in danger of invading the captain's chair, or the first officer's, for that matter. Then again, maybe it's just a big hole in the back yard.
What ya gonna use for the flux capacitor?
chrome plated muffler bearings
Flux capacitor? Hmmm ... how 'bout cesiym strontium nitrate, cryogenically formed and kept in a vacuum? LOL .......
I was thinkin adimantium. ROFL!
Gee can't seem to find ANY unobtainium anywhere get that stuff, everything else would be simple!
